The duo continued to excel in subsequent years, winning several World Championship titles and securing gold at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. Hannah’s dominance in the event continued at the Tokyo Olympics, where she won gold once again, an achievement which led to her winning the 2021 World Sailor of the Year award. Hannah is a key member of the Emirates GBR SailGP Team in her role as on-board Strategist. Mills is passionate about supporting women and youth access opportunities in the marine industry and created the Athena Pathway Programme with Sir Ben Ainslie to fast-track development in high-performance sailing and bring diversity into the sport. Outside of sailing, Hannah is a vocal advocate for using the inspiration and platform of sport to spearhead climate action and marine conservation, serving as a Sustainability Ambassador for the International Olympic Committee and founding the Big Plastic Pledge, an initiative focused on reducing the use of single-use plastic in sport.
