Emirates Great Britain SailGP Team nominated for the Environmental Sustainability Award at the FEVO Sport Industry Awards 2025

Sir Ben Ainslie's Emirates Great Britain SailGP Team has been nominated for the Environmental Sustainability Award at the FEVO Sport Industry Awards 2025.

The FEVO Sport Industry Awards celebrates the immense work done around the sector, whether it’s delivering world-leading events of all formats and scale or using sport as a platform to drive social change, to those campaigns that have an ingenious creative spark which reverberates throughout the industry and beyond.

The 2025 edition of the FEVO Sport Industry Awards will take place at Evolution London in Battersea on Thursday 15th May with a total of 18 prestigious awards up for grabs.

Emirates GBR has been nominated for the Environmental Sustainability Award for its win of the SailGP Impact League last year, a leaderboard which rewards teams’ positive environmental and social actions across the race calendar. Emirates GBR was crowned the Season 4 winners for the team's dedication to climate education, sustainability and inclusivity with its partners the 1851 Trust, Low Carbon and Athena Pathway.

The team's projects included:
  • First-of-its-kind Portable Renewable Energy Installation – partnered with Low Carbon to develop a system that took our base operations 100% off-grid.
  • Protect Our Future climate lessons – with our official charity (The 1851 trust), we engaged 1,750 young people across eight cities.
  • Off-grid solution blueprint – developed and published a free-to-use blueprint to inspire industry-wide change in cleaner event-based energy using athlete advocates to call the sports industry to action.
  • Bermuda Climate Action Grant – introduced our inaugural $10,000 Climate Grant to support long-term local school environmental projects.
  • We highlighted 11 global Climate Champions – our purpose-led content reached 1M+ people.
  • Maintained ISO20121 – the first organisation to achieve and maintain Sustainable Event Management certification for the 10th consecutive year

The team has been nominated alongside organisations including Formula E, International Olympic Committee, Sport England and Wembley Stadium.
